A standard linear or one-dimensional barcode, which we are used to see on the back of goods in a store, is a set of parallel lines atop a series of numbers and/or letters that stores information. Machines decipher this form of visual data and use it to complete a task, like tracking or cataloging an item.
The generator for creating linear barcodes or QR codes (a matrix type barcode) for labels can easily change any number of characters into a pattern of code, which can be identified automatically by applying the right software.
It is an important function that helps in linking digital information with a hardware device, and it is the first step towards automated facilities. It can complement automated sorting systems, track & trace procedures, etc. The practical limit for a standard linear barcode depends on a number of factors, but 20 to 25 characters is an approximate maximum.
On the other hand, a two-dimensional barcode, e.g. QR code, can hold several thousand numeric characters. All-numeric data takes less space than mixed alpha-numeric data
The test below involves creating an image file with a Code 39 type linear barcode, used for identification, inventory, and tracking shipments. Note: For your business, we can create more complex functionality.
